Make Showering Easier with this Top 10 of Shower Products
If there is one room that I hate, it is the bathroom. Not only do I hate showering due to my chronic pain and limited movement. But on top of that, it is also one of the most difficult rooms to clean. Luckily I have collected a fair share of products that help me shower. The cleaning, still remains troublesome. So here are my top 10 picks that I couldn’t do without in the shower and bathroom.
1. Memory Foam Bath Mat
When I used to step out of the shower I would have trouble staying upright. This problem has lessened since I use this bath mat, it doesn’t only help in drying of your feet, which is another tricky thing, but it also helps in keeping the pressure of my feet. And to top it of, you can just throw it in the washing machine to clean it.
2. Shower Stool/Chair
A good shower stool or chair is key to being able to shower on your own. I own the stool from the first picture and have found that it makes showering much easier. It isn’t even necessary to use it as a chair every time you shower, it also helps to put your shampoo on there, so you don’t have to bend over. And it can help you prop up your foot when you need to. The stool has an added feature of the seat being able to turn if you want when you sit down. The chair on the other hand has handles, which are a benefit on their own.
3. Shower Foot Step
This product is great at keeping you upright when you try to shave your legs or wash your feet. I would definitely recommend it if you don’t own a shower stool or chair. You don’t need it if you have a chair, because you can just use the chair to prop up your foot then.
TIP: To make shaving your legs even easier: only do it during summer. And even then you can just wear long trousers. Problem solved!
4. Pump Bottles
These type of bottles will make it much easier to get actual product out of the bottles. I know that I struggle with squeezing my shampoo bottle from time to time, and definitely when it’s almost empty. Luckily pump bottles are great alternatives. You can either choose glass pump bottles or plastic ones. The glass ones look nicer, but the plastic ones are probably safer. I’m sure that I’m not the only one who occasionally drops a shampoo bottle in the shower. And to clean them out, just throw them in the dishwasher.
5. Shower Gloves
To replace the sponge and to keep your hands from having to hold it, the shower gloves are a great idea. You basically pop them on and clean yourself. It makes sure that your hands don’t get tired before you even started drying yourself off.
6. 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner
When washing is already a lot of work, then conditioning is the worst. I have that problem and used to just skip the conditioning, which was fine, until my hair became too long. So I asked my hairdresser for a solution, and she actually told me about the 2-in-1 stuff. Before, I didn’t even know it was a thing. But it is a great solution when you do need to have some conditioning. Of course, you can’t expect perfectly conditioned hair, but it will be a lot less frizzy than when you just use shampoo. And it makes it easier to comb through, another plus!
7. A Fluffy Bathrobe
A bathrobe is great for when you just don’t have the energy anymore to dry youself off completely. And to make sure that you have a good one, you have to look at its weight too. Because a heavy bathrobe isn’t very useful. Mine used to be too big and heavy and I didn’t use it, because I couldn’t lift it up when I came out of the shower. Yet at the same time, be sure that it is ‘fluffy’, so that it will do a good job at drying you off.
This time, the seating is not for in the shower, but for afterwards. Because standing the entire time while drying off can be tricky. I, for example, can’t keep my balance when I’m drying off my hair. So putting a small bench in your bathroom is a great solution, if you have the space. I have one from Ikea which is also a laundry basket. It’s a great addition to your bathroom, I also frequently use it while I brush my teeth and want to sit down.
9. Hands Free Blow Dryer Bracket
This is a great product for when you can no longer hold your blow dryer up for long. It basically hold it for you, all you have to do is sit or stand in front of it and turn the wet hair towards your hairdryer. Another option is to let your hair dry naturally if you can. But that of course takes more time. But this holder is definitely a solution when you need to dry your hair quick and easily.
10. Detangling Brush
You probably already have this, but I thought I should mention it for those who don’t. It is an easy brush that make taking tangles out of your hair a lot lighter. You don’t have to pull very much to glide through. It really helps with quickly combing through wet hair.
