Kitchen Gadgets are always useful and wanted. They make for great gifts for someone else, or just for yourself. But there is a problem, you actually have to find said kitchen gadgets, which is difficult if you don’t know that they exist. So here is a top 10 of kitchen gadgets that you wish you’d heard of before.
1. The Chef’n PalmPeeler
This is a nice little kitchen product that doesn’t cost a lot, yet it makes a huge difference. You slide it onto you middle finger and it transforms your hand into a peeler. It’s is much easier and safer to use than a regular peeling knife.
2. An Egg Seperator
I think the name says it all. It’s a tool that help you seperate your egg yolks from your egg whites. You might already own one, but for those who don’t: get one. It’s one of the baking necessities that I just can’t live without. It keeps my hands and my counter clean. And because I know that I’m not the only one who regularly has to throw away eggs because of the failed breaking and seperating attempt. I know it will be useful for you. It’s also great to teach children to do, that’s how easy it is.
3. An Electronic Cheese or Chocolate Mill
This mill will grate your cheese or cholocate in no time. This is especially usefull if you have a block of cheese, and want it grated. Everyone knows you can’t grate that last bit of cheese, but this kitchen gadget will do that for you. This is one of those kitchen gadgets that I can’t live without. And on top of the cheese grating, it can also grate chocolate or nuts for you baking adventures.
4. Joseph Joseph Draining Rack
This is one of the more expensive kitchen gadgets, but it is worth it. Not only for those of you who don’t own a dishwasher and are looking for a nice looking and practical draining rack. But it is also useful if you have a dishwasher, you can use it for those pans that have to be washed by hand. Or for when you don’t use your dishwasher daily, and need a place to store the rinced dishes before they go into the dishwasher.
5. Dishwasher Safe Baking Mat
This Baking mat is one of thos must have kitchen gadgets when you enjoy baking. The baking mat is perfect to replace your parchment paper and is easily reusable, because you can just pop it in the dishwasher and it’s clean. On top of it’s use as a baking mat, you can also use it to protect you countertops or table when putting hot pans on it. (I use it when I have a dinner party, and I just pop it under my tablecloth to protect the table, and everyone looks on with awe, as I don’t use any pot holders!)
6. 8 in 1 Kitchen Tool Set
This set is a great gift for first home owner or students going away to college. It’s a great beginner’s set, containing everyting from a funnel to a measuring cup. And it makes such a great gift, because of its fun, bottleshaped design and its bright colours.
7. Joseph Joseph M-Cuisine
This series is a great example of using you microwave to make cooking easier. There is a microwave steamer and rice cooker. But there is also a spaghetti cooker, this is personally my favorite, it has a tool to measure the right amount, great instructions and a built in strainer, to make sure you only have to wash up one item. This would make a great gift for students, who just love microwaves and are experts at using them.
8. Ziploc Bag Holder
The title sounds a bit weird, but that is what this product entails. It’s a set of six bag holder, so it makes it easier to freeze in meals without having to mess around trying to get a ziploc bag to stand on its own. This set is great because you can prop up six bags at a time and fill them all up in one go. The holder work with clip at the top and fits several different sizes of bags.
9. OXO Salat or Herbs Spinner (small)
This Spinner is a great salad spinner for one or two people, because it is smaller in size and easy to use. It doesn’t have the annoying rope that keeps unwinding, instead you simply push the black button up and down. It also has a break to stop the spinning. On top of all this, it is easily taken apart and dishwasher safe. This is one of the kitchen gadgets that I can’t live without. Before I had it, I barely ate salad because I couldn’t be bothered. But this product makes preparing salads less annoying.
10. Silicone Stretch Lids
To end this list of kitchen gadgets, we’ll have a look at a product to keep products for longer. It is a set of silicone lids that adjust to the item you put it on. They fit on jars or bowls, but also on fruit and vegetables. It will prevent you from having to use a lot of cling film (because no one enjoys using that). On top of all its great uses, it is also dishwasher safe, which for me seals the deals.
Hopefully we gave you some great tips and we hope you have fun cooking and baking!
